Meet Waal Holding Investments
Founded in 1988
Waal Holding Investments traces its roots back to A.A. van der Waal Holding BV, founded by the late Aart van der Waal (1939–2023). After the successful sale of VSP Verzekeringen in 2016, Aart chose to take a new direction, actively investing in real estate and financing. This marked the beginning of a family business built on entrepreneurship, vision, and trust.

The next generation
In 2023, leadership transitioned to his grandson Bouke Caton, representing the next generation. This not only ensured the continuity of the company but also opened a new chapter where tradition and experience are combined with fresh energy and forward-looking leadership.
The company remains fully family-owned, with shares held by Aart (son), Nelleke (daughter) and Riny (spouse). This structure reflects the deeply personal character of Waal Holding and the shared responsibility with which decisions are made.
Today, Waal Holding is a family investment firm with a diversified portfolio across asset classes. We combine strategic oversight with personal involvement, building long-term value through trust, connection, and continuity. As an active family business, we shape our vision and decisions together, guided by shared values and generational alignment.
